Our Staff

The Richmond Center outpatient staff includes the following:

Psychotherapy
Licensed Psychologists
Licensed Independent Social Workers
Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Psychiatry
Board-certified Psychiatrists
Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner
Registered Nurses

Each licensed mental health provider has at least five years of experience, and most have been in the profession for 15-20 years. They all hold Iowa licenses.

Staff members who provide in-home and in-community services have bachelor degrees in disciplines related to human services. Most of them have been providing services for 3-8 years.

All of the Center's mental health professionals work as a team to serve the needs of it clients and the community. All services are confidential, client-focused, and delivered in a considerate and respectful manner.

Administrative

Anne Armknecht
Executive Director

Anne joined The Richmond Center in January, 2005. She recieved her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Northern Iowa in 1984 and her Masters of Business Administration in Health Care from St. Ambrose University in 2002. Anne has over 15 years experience working with adults diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness through Hillcrest Family Services. Previously, Anne was the Director of the Hillcrest Supported Living Program in Iowa City. She has an interest in housing issues, community based services, service coordination and consumer empowerment.

Theresa Samson
Controller

Theresa has been with The Richmond Center since January 2002. She received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Iowa State University in August 2000. Having passed the Certifiied Public Accounting Exam in May of 2000, she became a Cerified Public Accountant upon graduation. Prior to joining the Center, Theresa worked for Mary Greeley Medical Center, the Iowa State Daily and The Principal. Theresa is a member of the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) and an officier in the Ames Chapter of American Society of Women Accountants. She has been a proud resident of the Ames area her entire life.
