Our Staff
The Richmond Center outpatient staff includes the following:

Psychotherapy
Licensed Psychologists
Licensed Independent Social Workers
Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Psychiatry
Board-certified Psychiatrists
Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner
Registered Nurses

Each licensed mental health provider has at least five years of experience, and most have been in the profession for 15-20 years. They all hold Iowa licenses.

Staff members who provide in-home and in-community services have bachelor degrees in disciplines related to human services. Most of them have been providing services for 3-8 years.

All of the Center's mental health professionals work as a team to serve the needs of it clients and the community. All services are confidential, client-focused, and delivered in a considerate and respectful manner.

Mary Brunet
Outreach Worker

Mary Brunet joined the Richmond Center's Outreach Services staff in 1998. With nearly 20 years of experience in the mental health field, Mary served as a rehabilitation worker with the Iowa State Vocational Rehabilitation Facility in Des Moines just prior to joining the Richmond Center. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Iowa State University. Mary provides Outreach services to clients in Story, Boone and Greene counties.


Sumer Hallgren
Outreach Worker

Sumer joined The Richmond Center in May 2005. She works in the Carroll office serving clients in Carroll and Greene Counties. Sumer provides Community Support Services, Supported Community Living Services and helps facilitate Social Development Groups at the Center. Prior to coming to The Richmond Center, Sumer worked as an Outcomes Specialist at Northwoods Living in Fort Dodge where she worked with consumers with mental illness and assisted them with Supported Community Living Services, medication compliance and provided emotional support. Sumer graduated from University of Northern Iowa in Summer 2003 with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work.


Audra Higdon
Social Development Group Facilitator

Audra graduated from Iowa State University in May of 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Educational Services. She has worked as a member of the support staff at The Richmond Center since September of 2003. Audra started working in Outreach Services in June of 2005.


Cari McPartland
Outreach Program Coordinator

When Cari McPartland joined the Richmond Center in 1999, she had over ten years of experience in assisting persons with disabilities. She worked in both school and residential settings and served children, teenagers, and adults. Just prior to joining the Center, Cari served as a residential assistant at Story County Community Life in Ames, where she assisted individuals having psychiatric disabilities and/or mental retardation. Cari holds a bachelor's degree from Westmar College, with majors in Human Services-recreation, Human Services-child/youth, and Physical Education and a minor in Psychology. At the Richmond Center, Cari provides Supported Community Living Services to clients in Story County.


Nick Stull
Outreach Worker

Nick joined the Richmond Center staff in August of 2003. He came to the Center with ten years of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities. Nick received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Iowa State University in May of 1992.


Brett Van Horn
Outreach Worker

Brett joined the Richmond Center in late 2001. He came to the Center with four years of experience in assisting children and adolescents with behavioral, emotional, and mental health issues. Brett graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Iowa State University. At the Richmond Center, Brett provides Supported Community Living Services in Story and Boone Counties, as well as facilitating many of the Center's Social Development Groups.
